AWB and Corona Energy team up for tri-utility offering

The two companies will offer a gas, electricity and water service to businesses

Anglian Water Business has partnered up with business energy supplier Corona Energy to offer business customers a tri-utility supply of water, gas and electricity to business customers.

The two companies have signed a “white label” contract. Anglian said the move will “build its existing reputation for energy efficiency audits, energy and water saving technologies, investment-free installation and shared payback schemes”.

As part of the new proposition, customers will be able to fix their gas and electricity prices for up to five years, which will allow them to forecast costs accurately and budget more effectively. It will also remove the impact of price volatility in the market.

Customers will also be able to renew at any time within their contract life to take advantage of any price reductions that may occur.

Anglian Water Business managing director Bob Wilson said: “Offering businesses the ability to choose water, gas and electricity from one quality supplier makes sense. Customers will benefit from simpler billing and effortless management of all their utility requirements from a single, trusted and service-driven organisation.”

He added: “Corona Energy is the largest independent supplier of business gas and electricity in the UK with a 20-year track record of supplying companies and public sector organisations of all sizes. By joining forces with Corona, we have entered into a partnership with a business that sets the same high standards of service and operational excellence our customers receive from us.

“The result will be a fully joined up and accountable supply and service offering across water, gas and electricity with a single point of contact, one telephone number and 24/7 access to online account management.”

Corona Energy managing director Matt Gray said: “We’re delighted to sign this deal as Anglian Water Business’s new supplier partner and look forward to helping them simplify energy management for British businesses, with a streamlined approach to tri-utility supply, based on excellent service, value and convenience.”

Corona Energy told Utility Week in October last year that it was “currently reviewing opportunities” in water but had yet to decide upon how, when and whether to enter the water market.

Anglian Water Business recently announced it had teamed up with NWG Business to create a new retailer of water and wastewater services in England and Scotland. The new business will be called Wave, and intends to become a multi-utility retailer, providing gas and electricity services in addition to the water and wastewater services initially on offer.
