Engineers are working to restore power to around 8,000 households that remain without power after heavy snowfall in Scotland.
SSE said around 11,000 households in the north and north east of the country had been affected but that engineers were “making good progress”.
A company spokesman said supply interruptions were “reasonably widespread but we knew it was coming and were prepared for it”. He added that SSE expects to restore power to all households today.
Scottish Power had fewer customers off supply, although a spokesman said engineers were working to restore power to affected areas in “isolated pockets” of Fife.
