A 1MW solar photovoltaic system that can be operated in unison with its mobile battery storage and thermal generation units has been made available for hire by Aggreko.
The company can be “seamlessly” integrated together using intelligent control software to create a hybrid system that “operates more efficiently, uses significantly less fuel in combination with backup generators, and has a much lower CO2 footprint.”
Aggreko said the solar system has been optimized for off-grid applications and is well suited to harsh and remote environments. The panels can track the sun as its moves across the sky from east to west to maximise output throughout the day.
The firm said they can be deployed with three to four month but must be rented for a minimum of five years.
“Aggreko Solar Power is designed for ease of deployment both in physical terms, thanks to relatively quick off-grid implementation, as well as financial, with no requirement of significant upfront costs”, said Karim Wazni, managing director of Aggreko Microgrid and Storage Solutions.
“Our goal is to offer the widest and most flexible range of mobile and modular solutions, including off-grid renewable energy systems such as this one, as a plug-and-play service for short or long-term needs.”
