So Energy has announced all of its customers across the company’s tariffs are now supplied with 100 per cent renewable energy. It said it had achieved this without raising prices for any existing customers.

It claimed its customers will become the “first in the market” able to choose which type of renewable energy the company will source its energy from.

“Each year, our customers will be able to choose whether they would like solar, wind, biomass, hydroelectric or tidal and we will ensure that our reported Ofgem electricity fuel mix will be reflective of how our customers voted,” the firm said in a statement.

Charlie Davies, co-founder of So Energy, said: “The three most important things our customers care about are price, service and the environment. Unlike the big six, we’ve listened to what our customers want and we’re now excited to provide them with a choice of genuinely affordable renewable energy combined with fantastic service.”

So Energy is signed up to the Energy Switch Guarantee, which launched last summer with the aim of increasing consumer confidence when switching.
