Anglican Water Services has appointed Stephen Billingham as a non-executive director to its board with immediate effect.
Billingham is currently the executive chairman of Punch Taverns, which has recently completed the UK’s most complex and long running securitised debt restructuring.
He is also a Government appointed non-executive director and chairman of the audit committee of Urenco.
Billingham has previously been the group finance director of British Energy Group and WS Atkins, the UK’s largest engineering consultancy.
He also has experience in the utilities industry having worked as group treasurer for BICC, now Balfour Beatty, and Severn Trent.
Anglian Water group chairman, Sir Adrian Montague, said: “Stephen brings considerable relevant experience, including of large-scale infrastructure projects, and rigorous financial management within complex businesses.
“Stephen’s expertise adds value to the independent scrutiny of our business.”
On his appointment, Billingham said: “I am pleased to be invited to join the board of Anglian Water at a pivotal time for the company and the water industry.
“I look forward to working alongside the management team to deliver a programme of work that promises great value for customers.”
