Big undersea cable planned to transmit wind, wave and tidal power from north of Scotland

SSE's transmission arm is planning a 109km subsea cable between Caithness and Moray to support expected growth in wind, wave and tidal power. The firm said the link will be able to transmit around 1.2GW of power using High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) technology.
