Glide, a Birmingham-based utility payments company has acquired Huru, a multi-tenant billing start-up in the capital.
Set up by two students in 2006, Glide is now a £28 million turnover company and employs 80 people.
It offers multi-tenant billing for people living or working in shared accommodation and was bought out by CableCom in 2016.
Arthur Jones, Glide’s London business development manager will head up the office in the capital, which will retain current Huru staff.
Glide said the acquisition will enable it to focus on the expanding Housing of Multiple Occupancy (HMO) market.
Jones, said: “Huru’s staff bring unrivalled knowledge and experience to our portfolio and we’re ready for the opportunities that await.”
Glide offers one monthly bill for all utilities and portfolios shared among tenants.
Richard Price, sales director of Glide, said: “Glide are able to provide gas, electricity, water, broadband and a TV licence.
“We are a white label energy provider and supply our own broadband. Customers are able to contact us about everything relating to their utilities, from a billing query to booking in meter appointments.”
Jones, added: “While Glide has experienced a 32 per cent sales growth in the past year, with a 58 per cent increase in number of broadband customers since being acquired by Cablecom; we believe there is still huge potential for growth with a new presence in the capital.”
