Oxford Street will take a week to repair after a burst 24-inch Thames Water main flooded fourteen businesses last night.
A section of London’s busiest shopping street, near Marble Arch, was inundated when the Victorian pipe burst at 20:30 yesterday.
The water company said engineers shut off the flow by 11pm and it would take about a week to rebuild the damaged road.
Transport for London said 18 bus routes were diverted.
