Scottish water retailer Business Stream has appointed a new director of sales and marketing as it gears up for the opening of a competitive water market in England.
James Cardwell-Moore, former Thames Water head of business change, has joined from outsourcing and professional services company Capita where he was a director.
The Water Bill received Royal Assent at Westminster in May, thereby paving the way for the opening of a competitive water retail market in England from 2017.
With 10 years of senior experience in the utility sector, Cardwell-Moore will work with Business Stream’s existing Scottish customers as well as helping the company expand into the English market.
“The company has ambitious plans for expansion in England, with the added challenge of maintaining its market-leading position in Scotland. That’s no mean feat, but the business is well-equipped to meet the task, and it’s a challenge I relish,” he said.
