Paul Butler is retiring as managing director of South East Water after 18 years.
He will be succeeded by David Hinton, currently asset and regulation director at South East, in August 2020.
Butler said: “Not an easy decision to retire, but it is an appropriate time. The new five-year regulatory period will have just commenced and there will be much to achieve.”
Hinton, who initially worked in the microbiology laboratory before moving into strategic positions across the business, was the lead executive for the price review process.
Butler reflected on the improvements the company made since it merged with Mid Kent Water in 2007 and added: “I am also certain that the business will do an even better job for its customers and the environment in the future given all the skilled and committed employees who work at South East Water.”
