Cadent director of strategy Angie Needle has hit out at “flippant statements” made by the National Infrastructure Commission (NIC) about decommissioning the gas network. She told Utility Week that the NIC’s recommendation to “begin planning for the process of decommissioning the gas network” was unhelpful for everyone, adding that the NIC’s analysis of future heating has got “a lot of holes in it”.
