Challenger brand Cardiff Energy Supply has become the fourth supplier of 2019 to cease trading.
In an announcement this afternoon (8 August), Ofgem announced that SSE has been chosen as the supplier of last resort (SoLR) for the company’s 815 customers.
SSE will acquire the customers tomorrow. It has already accepted 17,000 customers through the SoLR mechanism this year.
Tracey Costley, SSE customer service director, said: “I’d like to welcome all of our new customers to SSE. We are a company recognised for providing exceptional service and are proud to have been chosen by Ofgem to provide energy to these customers.
“Our priority now is to make sure these new customers are set up as quickly and as smoothly as possible.”
Tough trading conditions have already seen three other suppliers exit the market in 2019 – Economy Energy, Our Power and Brilliant Energy.
