CMA pushes back deadline for RIIO2 appeals decision

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has pushed back the deadline for its decision on the appeals by transmission and gas distribution networks against their final determinations for the RIIO2 price controls. The deadline for redeterminations is now set for 30 October 2021.

DCC network is ‘credible option’ for enabling smart EV charging

Britain’s smart meter network is a "credible option" for enabling smart electric vehicle (EV) charging, despite a report warning against its mandatory use, the chief executive of the Data Communications Company (DCC) has argued. Angus Flett was speaking in response to a report produced on behalf of trade body Energy UK, which raised a number of concerns, including that the DCC network is specific to Great Britain, whilst the market for EVs is global.
