The REGO windfall: Money for nothing?
Ovo Energy announced in April it is ditching REGOs and diverting the money it would have spent on the certificates to more direct support for new renewable energy projects. The move follows a sharp rise in REGO prices, which the company says will cost consumers billions of pounds over the coming years.
