Complaints in the non-household water market have fallen to their lowest levels since the market opened up in 2017, but CCW said progress have been uneven between suppliers. Billing and administration challenges continued to dominate complaint number, while issues relating to wholesalers accounted for one-third of problems.

Ofwat to redefine vulnerability

Ofwat is re-examining water companies approaches to vulnerability and supporting customers facing financial difficulties. It called for input from stakeholders on whether definitions of vulnerability have changed in the past five years. It praised the more than 200 separate schemes companies have in place to support billpayers but urged a softer approach to dealing with those in debt.
