MPs from across the south west raised concerns of constituents, which had been angered by political point scoring around sewage discharges leading to one MP having faeces being posted through their door.

Water companies urged to address non-household market

The independent Strategic Panel representing the non-household water sector has raised concerns that water efficiency and smart metering is not sufficiently prominent in water companies' water resource management planning. Chair of the body Trisha McAulay said the sector has a greater role to play and cannot be "simply an add on" within company plans if demand reduction of 9% is to be achieved by 2038.
