Failure to build reservoirs has left water supplies ‘exposed’
The new chair of the Environment Agency, Alan Lovell, has stated that the failure to build new reservoirs over the last 30 years has left the country "exposed" to water supply challenges. Appearing before a House of Commons select committee, the agency's chief executive James Bevan also warned that the costs of investing in new infrastructure will be outweighed by the costs of not doing so.
