Up to 13GW of renewables, most of them in Scotland, may be eligible to enter the next set of Contracts for Difference (CfD) auctions, analysis by Cornwall Insight has suggested. The figure includes 5.5GW of onshore wind and solar projects which will be allowed to bid for the first time in years after the government announced plans to hold a ‘pot 1’ auction for more established technologies as part of the fourth competitive allocation round in 2021.
