Npower is urging social housing providers to make use of community funds to install energy efficiency measures and switch tenants to gas heating systems before the current social funding schemes end in December.
The firm said a recent survey of 250 social landlords had suggested lack of funding was the key barrier to improving the efficiency of housing stock.
Npower said 100% funding of installation of gas central heating systems was available to social housing providers with at least 30 properties.
