The Competition and Markets Authority has cleared Pennon Group's acquisition of SES Water after accepting undertakings from the former. The watchdog had raised concerns that the deal could hinder Ofwat's ability to regulate because but accepted the terms laid out by Pennon, which mirrored those it applied when adding Bristol Water to its portfolio in 2022.
