CNG Energy has announced it has ceased trading after almost three decades supplying non-domestic customers.
The retailer, which served around 41,000 businesses, is the sixth supplier to exit the market so far this week and the 22nd to enter the supplier of last resort process this year.
Its parent company, CNG Group, also provides gas shipping services for a number of small energy suppliers and reportedly advised them recently to find an alternative gas shipper.
In a statement on its website, CNG Energy said after 27 years it was “saddened” to confirm it was ceasing to trade.
The latest exit follows the quadruple failure announced on Tuesday (2 November) of Omni Energy, MA Energy, Zebra Power and Ampoweruk.
On Monday, Ofgem also revealed the UK arm of global energy retailer, Bluegreen Energy, was exiting the market.
So far this week more than 70,000 customers, both domestic and non-domestic, have seen their energy supplier fail.
