Ofwat urged to clamp down on asset management failings
The NIC has written to Ofwat urging it to take a lead on how water companies assess the age and health of their underground assets. It suggested making it a licence requirement, or to incentivise companies to come up with a forward-looking approach to asset management. It said the current replacement rate was too low, but it could not currently recommend an appropriate rate.
