Renewable energy company Low Carbon has secured £310 million funding from four international banks to fund solar PV projects.

A scheme to warm thousands of Cornish homes with heat extracted from rocks more than 5 kilometres below the earth’s surface has been awarded £22 million of government funding. The Langarth deep geothermal heat network – the first of its kind in the UK - is one of seven projects to receive a share of £91 million handed out from the government’s Green Heat Network Fund.
The current disjointed approach to social tariffs in the water sector leaves consumers at the mercy of a postcode lottery. With each water company setting its own support mechanisms, calls for a single social tariff have increased during the cost-of-living crisis. While water companies do all offer financial help to billpayers, the generosity of support available varies from company to company.
