UK cost recovery consultancy Professional Cost Management Group (PCMG) has secured a place on a new framework designed to recover £220 million for the public sector.

PCMG has been awarded the energy, water and telecoms lots on the Crown Commercial Service’s (CCS) new ‘Spend Analysis and Recovery Services II’ framework.

The framework means public sector organisations across the UK can access the “most effective forensic auditing services”, to recover historical overcharges on energy, water and telecoms.

PCMG said it will be “achieved quickly and simply”, from a single, central location and without the need for senior management sign-off.

The CCS has forecast up to £220 million of erroneous payments made could be recovered over the planned four years of the framework.

James Paine, PCMG’s key account director, said: “PCMG has secured more than £35 million in refunds and savings from ‘settled’ invoices for the public sector in the past six years alone. Our place on the framework therefore means access to a world-class operating cost consultancy, with the strongest track record in recoveries for our clients.”

In November last year, water retailers Castle Water and Business Stream were awarded multi-million pound contracts through the CCS framework.
