A total of 26,430 warrants for forced installation of prepayment meters (PPMs) were granted in the first three weeks of this year alone, it has been revealed. Labour said vulnerable families faced being "disconnected by the backdoor" because of government inaction. Meanwhile, the chair of a new All Party Parliamentary Group on PPMs accused the government of being “reluctant” to crack down on forced installations because it doesn’t “believe you should be telling companies what to do".
