Jonson Cox, fresh from his time chairing Ofwat, has called out water companies for losing the faith of their customers and told bosses to publicly face up to shortcomings in performance, rather than "hide" behind regulators and their trade body, Water UK. He suggested companies could restore lost sector legitimacy by funneling "exceptional" returns gained via inflation on asset bases back into improving the environment.
