The Department of Energy and Climate Change (Decc) has appointed a new lead non-executive director.
Martin Stewart will replace Paul Walsh, who has decided to step down after more than two years in the role.
Stewart, who is the chief executive of Eurotaxglass, a valuation company for the European automotive sector, will take up his new post in June.
Energy secretary Ed Davey said he hopes the new lead non-executive director will “help build and shape the department as it moves its agenda forward.”
Davey added: “His experience on transformation and efficiency will prove invaluable as we work to secure unprecedented levels of investment in new energy infrastructure and reduce energy demand in the economy.”
Stewart will join DECC’s existing non-executive directors, Claire Thomas and Terry Morgan.
