Distribution network operators (DNO) have called on energy suppliers to produce their migration plans for switching business customers to half-hourly charging as they have yet to see plans from all suppliers.
The Energy Networks Association (ENA) said DNOs have written to suppliers asking for more details as supplier migration plans are a “critical part of planning” for ensuring tariffs are set accurately.
An ENA spokesperson said: “So far only high level plans have been received from a few suppliers and so network operators have written to suppliers requesting more details.
“Network operators are looking to work closely with suppliers to ensure all necessary information is provided swiftly as possible and ensuring accurate bills can be calculated.”
Under the obligations of Balancing and Settlement Code P322 suppliers must provide migration plans to industry body Elexon to ensure the switch-over, which started last month, continues on track until 2017.
Business customers in profile classes 5-8 must be switched to half-hourly charging from November this year at the renewal of their contract until April 2017.
DNOs need the requested information in order to produce the maximum import capacity for those customers to be switched and calculate the correct system charges.
