Drought conditions remain in two parts of England, despite above average rainfall for five consecutive months this winter. The National Drought Group warned that the weather over the next three months will determine if the country will experience another drought this summer, as reservoir and groundwater levels must recover ahead of the dry hot period. However, it has also stressed the need for water companies to identify new sources of supply and ensuring existing ones are optimised.
