The UK’s first not-for-profit energy supplier, Ebico, has announced the appointment of Stephen Knight as a new non-executive director.
Knight was previously acting chief marketing officer at big six supplier, SSE. He will be responsible for advising the directors on marketing decisions and supporting the marketing team at Ebico.
Ebico chief executive Phil Levermore said: “Stephen will be an invaluable asset, helping us to develop and refine Ebico’s brand strategy following our recent rebranding and the integration of the Ebico Trust into our corporate communications strategy.”
Stephen Knight said: “The UK retail energy market is in a fascinating and challenging phase with new players mounting a huge challenge to the status quo. Ebico, with its unique tariffs, great customer service reputation and its mission to fight fuel poverty, occupies a rare position in the sector, and I’m looking forward to working with the Ebico team to build on their success.”
Ebico now holds around 100,000 household accounts and uses its financial surpluses to help fight fuel poverty.
