Economy Energy will create 200 new jobs as it launches its new customer contact centre.
The independent supplier has invested £4 million in the new Coventry-based facility which is set to open in February next year.
The expansion is the latest move to enhance the firm’s communication and engagement with customers directly and through online platforms. It will also provide a training facility for its energy team.
Economy Energy head of operations Martin Stewart said: “We are at a very exciting stage in the growth of Economy Energy, as we expand our customer numbers across the country. At the heart of this growth is bringing our customers the very best experience at every touchpoint they have with our brand, whether that be online and offline.
“The launch of our new dedicated contact centre is a key pillar of this strategy and will give us the platform to engage and meet the demands of our customers.
“The facility also provides us with a dedicated space to house our training team – this will be vital in supporting career progression and ensuring our energy advisors are equipped to help our customers make informed decisions on their domestic energy needs.”
Earlier this month the supplier launched a new responsive website and payment app for its almost 200,000 customers.
In April, Economy set out plans to treble its customer base as it reached its 100,000th customer after three years. Chief operating officer Angela Beardsmore also said that the company was “determined” to achieve a three-fold increase in revenues from £57 million to over £150 million.”
