EDF Energy has confirmed it is raising the cost of its standard variable tariff (SVT) in line with the next price cap level, the first supplier to do so. Record global wholesale costs recently pushed the cap to its highest level yet. Elsewhere, another large supplier has told Utility Week it is monitoring the situation.
