EDF Energy has launched a revised support package for vulnerable energy customers, which will include free benefit entitlement checks.
The new measures will replace the supplier’s Price Reassurance scheme, which will close on September 30.
The revised support package will also give vulnerable customers access to personalised support advisers, who will check they are on the best tariff for them, as well as offering them advice to reduce their energy usage and free energy efficiency measures.
Martin Lawrence, EDF Energy’s managing director, said: “We believe this revised package of support will continue to offer our vulnerable customers both practical support and access to financial help which could make a real difference to their lives in an effective and sustainable way.”
EDF Energy has committed to invest £3 million this year into the EDF Energy Trust Fund, which makes cash awards to vulnerable customers who are struggling to pay their energy bills or other household debts.
The supplier will also continue to fund a debt advice service run by the Citizens Advice Bureau, which helps more than 12,000 people a year.
