EDF proposes 350MW solar farm in Essex

EDF Renewables and Padero Solar have unveiled proposals to build a 350MW solar array on land near Chelmsford, which if approved would become the joint largest solar farm in the UK. The project, which also includes a battery storage system, has already secured a transmission connection agreement for the import or export of up to 500MW of power. Separately, EDF has announced plans to “massively increase” the size of its renewable business, while funnelling £50 billion of investment into the UK by 2035.
