EDF Energy is inviting nearby residents to comment on plans for Sizewell C nuclear power station in Somerset. Topics under consultation include the rail, sea, and transport strategy - including park and ride site; accommodation for workers; and the socio-economic effect of the power station construction.

Richard Mayson, director of planning and external affairs in nuclear new build for EDF Energy, has urged local people to share their opinions, adding: “We are committed to giving your feedback serious consideration and will take it into account as we prepare detailed plans for Sizewell C.”

At the peak of construction, EDF says the project will provide 5,600 jobs on site, with 900 permanent jobs being created once the nuclear plant is operational.

The consultation runs for eleven weeks and can be found here.
