Electricity North West has launched its latest tender for 259MW of flexibility across 37 locations in its license area.
The distribution network operator is making more than £2 million available in the tender which will award contracts for 2022 to 2024.
Its requirements are greatest in Lancashire where it is seeking nearly 140MW flexibility. A further 50MW is required in Greater Manchester, whilst 40MW is needed in Cumbria.
Lois Clark, commercial lead for distribution system operation at Electricity North West, said: “We continue to support the North West’s commitment to reaching net zero carbon and recognise the contribution that flexibility services make by helping to unlock capacity on the network.
“We are also delighted to have opened our flexibility service tender process to energy efficiency schemes, which we believe have a huge part to play in facilitating this change and help to finance our net zero goals.”
Potential providers must register and pre-qualify for the tender on the Piclo Flex platform by 21 January 2022.
