Energy crisis will take retail market to ‘a better place’

The recent turmoil caused by the global spike in gas prices will ultimately be “hugely beneficial” for the energy retail market, an industry analyst has claimed. Martin Young, senior analyst at Investec, said the crisis, which has contributed to the failure of more than 20 suppliers so far this year, should “hopefully mark the end of this insane desire for switching for switching’s sake.”
