The government is offering £19 million of funding for entrepreneurs in energy efficiency, storage and low carbon generation.
The money comes from the second phase of the Energy Entrepreneurs Fund, which allocated £16 million to help bring innovative products to market since autumn 2012 in its first phase.
Energy secretary Ed Davey, said: “We’re on the side of innovative businesses and individuals with drive, passion, ideas and entrepreneurial spirit.
“This funding will get ideas off the ground and into the market, create new green jobs, and help the UK get ahead in the innovation global race.”
The scheme particularly aims to assist small and medium sized enterprises, and the Department of Energy and Climate Change (Decc) expects to open calls for projects every four to six months.
The funding is available on a rolling basis to support projects up to a maximum of £1 million for work completed by 31 March 2015.
The deadline for the first call for applicants within the second phase is 12 July.
