Energy provider Engie has become the newest member of the Energy Switch Guarantee (ESG), an industry initiative to make “switching simple and safe” for customers.

Companies signed up to the guarantee are required to report on their performance every quarter to show they are compliant.

Increased competition between energy providers allows the customer to shop around for the best deals. Customers who have found a cheaper tariff offered by a competing service provider can rely on the guarantee which promises to deliver a “reliable and hassle-free switch” in 21 days.

Paul Roberts, managing director of Engie Home Energy, said: “Becoming a signatory of the Energy Switch Guarantee demonstrates Engie’s commitment to delivering the best possible experience from the moment that a customer decides to join Engie.

“This same commitment applies to customers on all of our products; from good value energy tariffs and inclusive connected home devices to emerging technologies such as electric vehicle home charging solutions and energy data platforms.

“We have worked hard to achieve the high standards required of a signatory and look forward to a long term involvement in the scheme.”

Pamela Taylor, independent chair of the Energy Switch Guarantee, added: “We are delighted to welcome Engie on board. It is very important for the guarantee to grow its membership to build consumers faith in switching energy suppliers.

“With now over 70 suppliers in the energy market, there is more choice than ever before.”
