Eradicating SF6 – an essential step towards net zero emissions

A webinar to explore the role of SF6 removal in creating an environmentally sustainable energy system and networks industry.

The UK’s commitment to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 has reanimated an awareness in the networks industry and beyond of the damaging effects of sulphur hexafluoride (SF6) on the environment and created sharpened political and reputational drivers for networks to invest in its safe removal from their asset bases.

In this webinar – hosted by Utility Week in association with Schneider Electric – industry, sustainability think-tank and supply chain leaders will consider the developing business case for eliminating SF6 from the asset base, the availability of viable alternatives to SF6 as an electrical insulator and the considerations which need to be taken into account for the creation of a replacement strategy without unintended negative consequences for networks, customers and the environment.
