The integrated software provider ESG has bought smart meter specialists Aprose Solutions.
In a statement issued today (23 May), ESG announced Aprose will become part of its UK subsidiary, Utiligroup.
Aprose is a leading independent specialist in the British smart metering market and ESG said its acquisition will help extend its “market leadership” in the UK.
“The UK energy market has an innovative approach to achieve benefits for end consumers through smart meters and connected technologies,” said ESG chief executive, Phil Galati.
“Our business is the market leader in providing the core software required for dozens of companies,” he added.
“We further extend this leadership with Aprose joining our team. As we became familiar with their business, we were impressed with their solutions, expertise and great people. Welcome to everyone from Aprose into the ESG global family.
“We look forward to exciting times ahead for our expanded team in UK and beyond as we help transform the experience of energy consumers to achieve all the benefits of digital technology,” added Galati.
The managing director of Aprose, Steve Powell, commented: “We are excited to join ESG and work as a team to help transform the energy sector for customers.
“The breadth of our combined talent and solutions positions us well to deliver the benefits anticipated from smart metering. I look forward to carrying on my passion to make energy smarter and making a strong leadership contribution to the future as part of the expanded Utiligroup.”
