ESO calls for review of security of supply standards following blackout

National Grid’s electricity system operator (ESO) has called for a review of the security and quality of supply standards to determine whether it is necessary to provide “higher levels of resilience”. The ESO made the recommendation in its final report to Ofgem on the August blackout that left more than a million customers without power.
