Former chief executives of SSE and Bordgais, Ian Marchant and John Mullins, have invested in "disruptive" smart technology company Climote.
Climote enables users to control their home heating and adjust the temperature from anywhere in the world, using smart technology, and recently partnered with ScottishPower to offer the technology to its 5.2 million customers nationwide.
“The retail energy business is in need of disruptive change and I believe this can come from the introduction of technology. Within the next few years, every home in the UK will be able to remotely manage their energy use and Climote is well positioned to play a leading role in this industry-wide change,” said Marchant.
Both the former SSE head and Mullins been appointed to the Irish home technology company’s advisory board.
