Expert view: Discover the ‘quiet revolution’ helping Industrial and Commercial businesses

Business energy specialist Haven Power is building an individual approach to help Industrial and Commercial (I&C) businesses improve their energy efficiency and reduce their carbon footprint.

Reducing costs and carbon emissions is high on the agenda for many Industrial & Commercial (I&C) businesses, with energy regularly among their five most important concerns. However, actually delivering improved energy efficiency has proven challenging.

That’s one reason why there’s so much interest among I&C businesses in a new initiative from Haven Power.

This is the first major project overseen by Paul Sheffield, Haven Power’s new Chief Operating Officer and I&C Director. He explains how the new approach aims to transform the I&C marketplace: “Helping customers find the right energy efficiency solution for their organisation depends on genuine understanding and knowledge.

“We always aim to build long-term relationships with our customers, so we’re investing our own experts’ time to help customers deliver the change they need.

“We’re lucky enough to be part of Drax Group. They’ve long understood the importance of making change to transform a business. They did it themselves when Drax Power upgraded half their power station to use sustainable compressed wood pellets – now they generate 16 per cent of the UK’s entire renewable power.

“With improved energy efficiency, it’s completely realistic for customers to aim to reduce their fuel bills – and their carbon emissions – by as much as a quarter.

“But first they need to know the right approach for their business.

“That can differ massively across different sectors. So it’s imperative that our experts work as part of our customers’ teams – and really get under the skin of their business.

“We’re encouraging customers to take part in design workshops where they can sit down with experts from Haven Power and Drax Power and help to create bespoke products and services.

“We understand that it can be challenging for businesses to fund energy efficiency measures, so we’re prepared to treat each of our I&C customers as individuals even when it comes to spreading the cost through their energy bill.”

Haven Power’s “quiet revolution” is starting and it promises a big transformation in the I&C sector. We’re sure we’ll be hearing more about it.
