Firms step up recruitment as Green Deal rubber stamped

With the Green Deal energy efficiency measure rubber stamped by parliament this week firms are ramping up recruitment to deliver it. Some are taking a franchise approach.

Twenty two firms were accredited ahead of the scheme’s soft launch this autumn. One company, Enact Energy, wants installers and assessors across the UK to join its Green Deal Partnership service. It will help them become an accredited Green Deal installer, register to join the Green Deal Advisor Service under the Enact banner and offer Green Deal finance and services to customers.

The ‘partners’ will also receive leads direct from Enact, which is also a member of the Green Deal Finance Company. From early 2013 the GDFC will be responsible for making finance and funding available to homeowners wanting to benefit from Green Deal opportunities.

“The Green Deal will undoubtedly offer installers and assessors across the UK widespread opportunities… But it is and will be a complicated process,” said Enact Energy chairman Adrian Wright.

“We can cut through the red tape and enable those working in industries such as heating, insulation and double glazing to get involved.”
