Independent supplier First Utility has collaborated with the Big Deal to offer the cheapest one year fixed dual fuel tariff on the market at £885.
The collective power of the Big Deal’s 70,000 members has allowed First Utility to offer the cheapest price on the market, fixed until 31 October 2016. It could save customers up to £270 on their gas and electricity bill compared with the average big six standard variable tariff.
The Big Deal uses “people power” through the collective bargaining of its member base to create cheap energy. The tariff is only available to members of the Big Deal, which is free to join.
This is the second time First Utility has won the cheapest bid with the collective switch initiative. In February 8,400 people took advantage of the first tariff, saving consumers £274 per year on average.
The Big Deal’s co-founder Will Hodson said: “The people power of our 70,000 members has created the cheapest fixed energy deal in the land. There’s power in numbers. Well done to First Utility for putting customers first and delivering such a great deal.”
“It’s completely free and simple to take and there are zero obligations. Everyone should sign up to The Big Deal and save.”
First Utility’s chief customer officer Ed Kamm said: “With this cheapest fixed deal on the market we have shown that we really can bring bills down for everyone so they spend less on what they need and more on what they want.”
