Octopus Energy and UK Power Networks were among the winners at the inaugural Flex Awards, which were unveiled at Utility Week Live on Tuesday (21 May).
UKPN was named as network of the year, while its director of distribution system operator (DSO), Sotiris Georgiopoulos, is our first flexibility pioneer of the year. Octopus triumphed in the flexibility service provider of the year category while its Kraken platform won best use of energy flexibility data.
The other winners were Dimplex and Centrica for best domestic flexibility proposition, with Piclo and the Electricity System Operator (ESO) pick up the best innovation award.
The Flex Awards, sponsored by National Grid Electricity Distribution, were launched earlier this year with the aim of celebrating the individuals, teams and organisations pioneering energy flexibility. They culminated in a ceremony at the end of the first day of Utility Week Live, which has a dedicated energy flexibility stage for the first time.
