More than 5,000 individuals and organisations have lodged their views on the controversial Thames Tideway Tunnel project.
Residents behind the Stop them Shafting Fulham campaign claimed responsibility for 2,500 of the responses, in opposition to the proposed Carnwath Road site.
The protest movement is backed by Hammersmith & Fulham borough council, which has been opposed to the giant sewer project from the outset.
Others have registered support for the scheme, including local amenity groups and environmental charities under the banner Thames Tunnel Now.
The second phase of consultation, which closed last week, focused on local impacts around the list of preferred construction sites. The project team is due to report on the feedback in May.
The tunnel is to be designated a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project this year, subject to an amendment to the Planning Act 2008 to include storage and transfer schemes.
