Flow Energy launches ‘cheapest’ winter tariff

Independent supplier Flow Energy has launched a new six-month tariff, which it claimed is the cheapest on the market over the winter period.

The deal, it said, will save households £204 over the six months until March 2017.

After six months customers can choose to stay with Flow on its variable tariff or fixed deal at that time and will be notified when the tariff ends. Currently, the Winter Warmer and variable combination would give a total annual cost of £743 (including VAT).

Flow Energy managing director Andrew Beasley said: “We know that the usual increased energy usage during the winter months can be an anxiety for customers, which is why we’ve launched this market-leading tariff in time for customers to benefit from reduced prices.

“We are the only provider currently running a short fixed tariff, unlike other energy providers who are passing on the volatile long term cost to their customers now.”

The tariff follows news that nearly a third of households have been forced to delay turning the heating on due to the cost, according to price comparison site Go Compare.
