Flow Energy has announced an 80 per cent growth in staff numbers since the start of the year.
The independent supplier has also forecast a further 25 per cent growth in jobs created during the first quarter of 2017, and will officially become a mid-tier energy provider.
The growth equates to almost 100 new recruits, added to the 240 people already employed, at its headquarters in Ipswich. Additional recruitment will be within customer service and IT.
Flow Energy managing director Andrew Beasley said: “The rapid growth Flow has experienced since launching, and particularly during the last 12 months, is testament to our competitive rates and industry-leading innovative products, but mostly it is a reflection of the commitment and dedication of our teams delivering outstanding customer service.
“We are delighted that through our continued growth, we are able to contribute to vital job creation, particularly in the Ipswich area where we are headquartered. The town has always been an ideal base for us because of its strong energy sales sector and established skills base. We have ambitious growth plans for 2017 and beyond, and are looking ahead to continuing to experience the growth success we’ve had to date.”
In August the firm announced its customer accounts had more than doubled from 100,000 to 220,000 in six months and appointed Charles Breslin as new customer service delivery director.
This year Flow was also awarded the ‘recommended provider’ status in the 2016 Which? annual energy company satisfaction survey and became the first small supplier to reach second place in the Citizens Advice complaints league table, since small suppliers were added in 2015.
